For Grievers

If your sickle cell warrior has passed away, Voices of Winged Warriors (VoWW) is here for you. This collective of caregivers, loved ones, and allies left behind still wants to educate, advocate, and drive action for better sickle cell outcomes.

While great strides are being made in sickle cell research, it hasn’t come in time for too many warriors. World-wide, every day, more than 1,000 individuals lose their lives to sickle cell. We know how that feels and we want to do more.

Together at VoWW, we can honor our warriors and help create change for a better future.

For Warriors & Caregivers

Great strides are being made in sickle cell research. They've brought cures and transformation to many, but we know that isn't every Warrior's reality - whether by choice or by chance.

So, in the meantime, Voices of Winged Warriors aims to keep you well. From everyday health maintenance to ongoing care management and emergency room guidelines. We're coordinating programs and collaborating with others to help get the right care for individuals with sickle cell.

VoWW wants a different world for you and we're fighting for it every day.

Advocating Through Loss

We know grief ebbs, flows and shifts shape over time, but it's always a moment or memory away. Drop in to remember or just to say their name with others who are on this journey of loss and advocacy.

Calling all adult Warriors! If you need your health checked, here's your chance for an assessment. Join us on 9/21 to help establish your baseline or interval levels for important health metrics. Referrals to primary care and specialists also available.

Lead Testing

Are you or a child you know at risk of lead exposure? It can happen in a variety of ways and endanger your health in the meantime. Children are especially vulnerable to the effects. Take action. Join us on 9/21 and get tested. It's open to ages 1 and up.

Quality Emergency Department Care

One of VoWW's primary strategic goals is to move beyond awareness. Through Sickle Cell STAT, we work to help ensure that knowledgeable, quality, guideline-based emergency room treatment becomes the standard for every individual with sickle cell.
